Counselling

Seeking counselling can feel incredibly daunting, particularly if you are experiencing overwhelming feelings or emotions. Perhaps you are feeling low in confidence or maybe you feel stuck in a cycle of behaviour that leaves you frustrated and isolated.

You might be struggling with feelings of loneliness, grief or painful experiences that you can’t seem to move past. Counselling can offer a space where you can be heard, accepted and supported in a non-judgemental and compassionate way. I see therapy as a joint venture, with the therapeutic relationship being fundamental to bringing about change.

A Bit About Me

I am a fully qualified and experienced counsellor, working with adults and young people over the age of 16. I offer a warm, empathic and confidential space, where you can explore your personal difficulties and develop greater self awareness and understanding, which can lead to long term change.

My approach is person centred, which focuses on respecting each client's unique experience and supporting them to find their sense of agency and self belief. I also draw upon other modalities, such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and mindfulness, to best meet the needs of each client. I work in an open ended way, offering both short and long term work, sessions will be guided by you and we will always go at your pace. I offer online, in person and outdoor therapy.

Over the years I have supported clients from a range of backgrounds and of various ages to overcome issues including; trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, bereavement, sexual violence, grief and addiction.

       Outdoor therapy

Being in nature has many benefits for your mental health and allows you to reconnect with your senses. Nature can provide a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment for counselling, particularly for clients who might find indoor sessions overwhelming. Movement in nature helps to regulate our nervous systems and offers an opportunity for processing difficult emotions in a rich and grounding setting. Outdoor therapy sessions may vary from sitting on a bench side by side to walking. Either way, you set the tone and pace for the session.

Contact
